Surface Modification Technique
Nowadays, the surface technique occupies a key position in the development of new procedures and products. With the multitude of surface modification methods, applications and materials it is difficult for the entrepreneur to make the optimal decision to an innovation. In this respect, he requires technical competent and practical oriented partners to stand by his side.
A diverse and, in itself, variable range from procedures to surface modification are at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technical Science and Applied Material Research (IFAM) in Bremen, Germany at your disposal:
- low-pressure plasma technique
- atmospheric pressure plasma technique
- fluorination
A multitude of applications has been realized in industrial relevant standards and in economical ways:
- cleaning of surfaces
- activation of surfaces - for adhesive bonding, varnishing and printing
- corrosion protection layers
- scratch resistance coatings
- anti-bonding, anti-soiling coatings - separation layers
- barrier layers
At IFAM are to each of these procedures and applications, are IFAM practical specific experiences and corresponding technical possibilities at disposal. In addition there is a multitude of surface characterization methods and, in conjunction with other Fraunhofer Institutes access to practically all further surface modification methods.
Within the bounds of its function as service provider in technology transfer, IFAM offers its resources for the processing of the above-mentioned industrial questions up to series production. Our service comprises consultation, process development, sampling and industrial installation through pilot terotechnology.
